meet the team

Adam co-founded Metis Homes in 2007 with Tony Burton, and has long played a pivotal role in the successful management and growth of the business. He formerly worked for Linden Homes where he built a strong reputation for his skill in land buying. Adam was appointed Managing Director of Metis Homes in April 2015 to drive the company forward and develop the Metis Homes brand.Adam is still involved in the land acquisition and planning side of the Metis Homes business on a day-to-day basis, and utilises his skillset to complement those of the team to ensure that Metis continues to acquire sites in the best possible locations.

Mike joined Metis Homes from Churchill Retirement Living where he was responsible for the acquisition of land across the south west. Mike represented the land function on the regional board during his time at Churchill Retirement and was involved in land matters at a group level as well. Prior to this, Mike was a Chartered Surveyor at Savills focusing on development consultancy and agency. Mike uses his vast knowledge and experience to advise the team on identifying, sourcing and acquiring land. Mike is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Alistair joined Metis Homes from WYG Consultants, where he held an executive role as Director in Planning for many years. Alistair brings with him over 15 years’ experience as a planning consultant with a diverse background in the industry and ample experience leading teams through the development process.Alistair works alongside our Managing Director, Adam O’Brien, in driving and overseeing all planning activity and will seek to maintain our unblemished track record in the planning arena.

Joe joined Metis Homes from Drew Smith (Vistry Partnerships) a partnerships business where he was responsible for identifying strategic land opportunities, promoting existing group assets, and town planning elements on development sites. Prior to this Joe worked in a similar role at Persimmon Homes where he also prepared and submitted outline applications for mixed-use schemes. Having begun his career in local government as a strategic planner working on local plans Joe uses his expertise in planning policy, site appraisals and strategic site promotion to identify and optimise strategic sites. Joe is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and is also a member of the RTPI’s England Policy Panel.

Our team brings with them a wealth of experience from time spent in the industry working with and for a wide variety of recognised businesses in their respective fields. We are a small company with big credentials and substantial expertise within the real estate sector.

As a company we take a bespoke approach to all of our sites, selecting the right project team including architects, consultants and professional advisors which enables us to unlock the potential in the land and maximise the value for the landowner.
